MauAR aims to honor this significant piece of history by providing a tangible experience of the division through Augmented Reality (AR). The technology allows you to step back in time, viewing the Berlin Wall and its historical context through your phone's camera.

Experience Beyond Berlin
Explore sections of the wall in your current location, whether you're outside or at home. For the best visual experience, larger spaces such as outdoor areas are recommended.

Exploring East and West
MauAR will visually indicate whether you are standing in the former East or West. Gain insights into the wall's layout and its lingering impact on the landscape. The app displays your proximity to the wall, offering an immersive experience.

Interactive 3D Experience
Delve into the construction of the wall with AR, toggling between various phases. Walk virtually across the death strip and transition between sides within the original scale of the wall.

On-Site Viewing
If you are near the former border strip, witness the Berlin Wall come to life in its original path through AR, right before your eyes, at its authentic location.

Immersive AR Film Experience
Embark on a unique storytelling journey through an AR Film. Accompany our leading characters, Andreas from East Berlin and Johanna from West Berlin, as they navigate through pivotal moments during decades of separation. Witness historical events like the construction of the Wall through their eyes.

30 Years Mauerfall Celebration
Relive history with our main characters as they guide you through key milestones from the inception to the dismantling of the Berlin Wall. Chapters will be unveiled gradually leading up to the Wall's 30th anniversary.
